Eclipse Phase scenarios
Oddly enough for Eclipse Phase I've had a drought of ideas that feel really compelling to me. Having finally gotten Gatecrashing I have thought of a couple. Both are quite straightforward so probably not anything that hasn't been thought of before.
The first is a very simple one-shot of a party being the first-in explorers to a world. This seems like a great way to introduce people to the system of Eclipse Phase without having to explain much in the way of the deeper setting. You can hint at it (especially with pre-made characters) by having the group have different allegiances but otherwise it's just them vs the new world they've set foot on. Plus you can change up the world easily enough without having to do much else with the scenario. As I write this it occurs to me that you could run a very episodic sort of series where they party just continuously explores new worlds (a crack team of first-in specialist for instance). Sort of a dungeon a week kind of series.
The other would be one of the Solar gates is destroyed by an antimatter explosion, ostensibly the last ditch defense mechanism and the party are the first to be sent in to investigate. I just have pictured the explosion from Planetes when part of the ship is destroyed on the Lunar surface and using that as the initial start point of the scenario. All they have is the result, some garbled transmissions before the facility goes up, and the day's schedule of gate travel to work off of. I'd suspect many people would have back-ups at the facility but those backups would be unlikely shed any information to the party unless they had emergency farcasters. A detective story with a twist.
