Thoughts on Gaming IV
Well Dani will be running BESM 3rd Ed for GenCon and Brady will be running Exalted 2nd Ed. I'm already spinning up a Twilight cast sorcerer (naturally) for Brady's game. I'm very excited to be finally playing Exalted although I will need to brush up on 2nd Ed rules as I've only run 1st Ed. Maybe I can sneak in some Dreams of the 1st Age charms?
Carl's City of Stone game is probably going to collapse in on itself due to scheduling issues. Also just a general kind of neglect as I don't think anyone is blown away by the game. Game enjoyment wise I've kind of been in a drought. Carl is a good DM but I think he is attempting to follow too many masters. Primary among them is that he wants to write fiction for this world and therefore he imposes stricter rules onto the game so that the world is more believable. Also there are the players who play their characters towards personal growth and those of us (I'm generally in this camp of late) who are just out to kills things and take their stuff. Maybe I'd be better as a GM/ST rather then a player? Plus he tends to want the players to resolve conflicts amongst the group and that just doesn't make sense to me. Understandable that the players should be able to resolve some issues but when it's an ongoing problem as the person in charge I think you gotta be able to step in. Anyhow, them's my thoughts on the current game. As I said due to scheduling issues and some general apathy don't think anything will be going for much of the summer.
Still toying with running a game. Maybe a 2nd Ed Dragon Blooded game to get myself rolling on the new system? Hard to say.
